SherpaShoes the beginning.
A simple solution for all ages started as an effort to make a simple slip on shoe for aging parents that they could keep by the door for those trips to the mailbox or back deck on wintry days. We knew our parents had fallen in the past and as they become older, spills during the winter might prove much more dangerous than for you and me. After several design attempts we chose a simple, lined clog that has special metal hex studs in the sole for sure footed grip on the snow and ice. They are lightweight and truly simple. We felt that having to strap on something to a shoe would prove too cumbersome for regular use or for those who might have trouble with buckles and straps. Instead a lightweight slipper that they can just slide on right by the door allows for simple use and great functionality. My mom loves it and now has confidence to check the mail, or sweep the deck during those wintery days that use to keep her house bound. They are so easy to use, she even keeps a pair handy in the car just in case the parking lot has unexpected ice.
